Her comprehensive medical training was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, situated within the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, where she gained invaluable experience at leading institutions including Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

During her tenure in Houston, Dr. Mistry was recognized for her leadership abilities and commitment to excellence, being appointed chief resident of her internal medicine residency program and subsequently chief fellow of her gastroenterology fellowship. Her role as chief resident included an additional fellowship in quality improvement, underscoring her dedication to enhancing patient care standards.
